Vision care in Sherbrooke

Sight is an incredible sense that results from all of the various parts of the eye working together. The eye works like a camera. The cornea, which is the transparent part at the front of the eye, works with the crystalline lens to ensure that the image is in focus. The iris, which is the coloured part of the eye, expands or contracts in order to control the amount of light. Finally, the retina, which is a thin layer covering the internal wall of the eye, acts like a photographic film. For clear vision, the image must be precisely focused on the retina. The image is then transformed into electrical impulses that travel through the optic nerve to the central decoder: the brain.
